Strand Palace, London

The brief
A London institution in the middle of theatreland — a film about the evening that starts at the hotel.
Strand Palace has stood on the Strand for over a century, with Covent Garden and the West End’s theatres on its doorstep. The brief was a brand film for the website and social built around what the address does best: the pre-theatre ritual — afternoon tea, a drink at the bar, and out into the lights.
The approach
The film follows the shape of a theatre evening. The doorman’s welcome, tea served in the salon, a martini finished at the bar — then the short walk into Covent Garden. London plays itself: red buses, the signage seen from the street, the district’s pace. The hotel’s job in the film is the same as in life — the calm, well-run base for a night out in the West End.
The pre-theatre ritual
Afternoon tea and a drink at the bar, built as one sequence.
The doorman’s welcome
A century-old address, carried by the people at its door.
Theatreland on the doorstep
Covent Garden and the West End as the reason to stay here.
